A fourteen-page introduction describing the development of classical organ-building up to the 1990s is followed by details and specifications of all Classical Organs built in Britain during the period 1979–90, arranged in order of size and illustrated with line drawings by John Brennan. Following this there are 80 pages containing 130 photographs (on art paper) depicting all the major instruments described.

In total, these three volumes contain details of all Classical Organs built in Britain during the period 1955–1990. Thirty-six years of organ-building, 446 stop-lists, 120 drawings, and 250 photographs in total.
